we played another warmaster ancient game. great fun, some of the rules are still confusing, at least to us, but the game played much better then the last time...

another wargame

we had another wargame this weekend, again the romans against hanibal and his elephants. (still learning the warmaster ancients rules !!)

The roman clash with the carthaginian in the centre

the battlefield, on the carthaginian left flank, hidden by the trees, 4 units numidian horse and 3 units barbarian infantry threatend the roman right flank !!!

after destroying the roman heavy cavalry and some roman legionairs, the carthaginian elephants get surrounded.

again the roman won, but only by killing the carthaginian general. all together it was a real thight game, with lot of destroyed units on both sides...

warmaster ancient game

we did our first warmaster ancient game this weekend, romans against carthaginians. it was great fun, although we should have done a better job in reading the rules !!! at the end it was a victory for the romans, (more thanks to their god of luck, than by tactics...hahaha, sorry Matthijs).

Carthaginian cavalry

waiting for the empire cannons and more orcs to arrive, it is the perfect opportunity to finaly finnish my Cathaginian army. first I finnished 2 new infantry units, one unit veterans and 2 units cavalry, the last I show here.

painted 3 more elephants for Hannibal. more are not allowed for a 2000 pts. army. should I paint for 3000 pts. ??......

the romans

For all those who thought it was a little bit to quiet... I was busy painting some romans.

Mostly zvezda's (my favourite brand) but with some Hät scorpio's. Officially not a part of the republican roman armylist, but just couldn't resist to put some shooting power in the roman army. They going to need it against the elephants. this is just the start. Intent to paint at least the triple amount...

reinforcement

it was bad weather last weekend, so I had a good painting weekend, finished 2 infantry units, 2 skirmishers and.... 2 numidian cavalry units. all of them are Zvezda. also a overview from the armie so far.

elephants !!

Hannibals Elephants have arrived. Zvezda's excellent miniatures finaly painted. I bought them when they first came out, and assembled them the same day. Left them unpainted for years on the shelve. Beautifull miniatures, and now part of my still growing cartheginian armie

carthaginians

A friend of mine is starting a republican roman armie and I have to provide the enemy. What better enemy than Hannibal and his Carthaginians. Mighty elephants, Gallic and Spanish allies, numidian horse riders. It will be quit a colourfull bunch. The first elements are already painted, the rest will follow (hopefully) soon. And then up and over the Alps mountains to the first battle with those perky romans....
